November: The Irish college Grave at Arcueil Cachan Blessing of the Graves

Between 1832 and 1939 more than 2 000 students passed through the Irish College in Paris, with roughly 1 500 proceeding to ordination.  On November 2, 2025, Fr Jim Doyle, the Ambassador of Ireland to France, Niall Burgess and some of the Irish community in Paris visited the Cimetière de Cachan to remember the seventeen seminarians who died before completing their studies and are interned in the Cimetière de Cachan, and the four members of the College Staff who are also interned in the Cimetière de Cachan (Division G and Division L). We also remember the small number of seminarians who were sent home and died shortly afterwards and four seminarians who died before the graves in in the Cimetière de Cachan were purchased.
