Mass for Dr. Frank O’Reilly

On Sunday May 6th the Chapelle had the honour of welcoming the seven daughters of the late Dr. Frank O ‘Reilly; Mary, Jane, Olivia, Margaret, Rose, Louise and Julie to the 11.30 weekly mass.

Francis Joseph Charles O’Reilly (13 November 1922 – 11 August 2013) was a distinguished Irish businessman, noted for his work in reviving the Irish distillery industry and in modernising Ireland’s banking sector. He served as Chancellor of the University of Dublin from 1985–98.

Dr. O’Reilly chaired the Restoration Committee of the Irish College, Paris, from 1986 until the inauguration of the Centre Culturel in Paris in 2002.

In recognition of this latter significant achievement, Pope John Paul II bestowed on him in that year, 2002, the honour of Knight Commander of the Equestrian Order of St Gregory the Great.

Sunday’s Mass was offered for the happy repose of the souls of Dr. O’Reilly and of his wife,Tess O’Reilly.’
