Irish National Day Celebrations & Events

Dear all,

As St. Patrick’s Day approaches, I would like to remind you that our Annual Mass in honour of St. Patrick will take place at the Church of St. Étienne du Mont on Sunday, March 15 at 16:15 pm. The Church of St. Étienne du Mont is situated on Place Sainte-Geneviève, just two minutes from the Centre Culturel Irlandais. We are delighted this year to welcome Minister Richard Bruton and Her Excellency Ambassador Byrne Nason who will be in attendance. Refreshments will be served at the Centre Culturel Irlandais immediately following Mass. All are very welcome.

The Minister and Ambassador will also attend Mass at 11:00 am on Sunday, March 15 at the Basilique du Sacré Coeur. This is to mark the historic “greening” of the façade for three nights beginning at 19:00 pm on that Sunday evening. Mass will be in French with a little “blás na féile Pádraig”. All are very welcome to this event.

May I also draw your attention to a great line up of events at the Centre Culturel Irlandais over the same weekend. Details can be found on the Centre Culturel Irlandais website. The midday concert at the Jardin du Luxembourg followed by the Circus acts in the courtyard on Sunday, March 15 should be good fun before Mass at 16:15 pm, especially for families.

Finally, the Gaeltacht-sur-Seine is very happy to invite you to join them immediately following Mass at the Centre Culturel Irlandais this Sunday, March 8 to mark Seachtain-na-Gaeilge with a series of cultural events such as Gaelic Football/Hurling demonstrations, face painting, cartoons and other activities for children.  Céad míle fáilte roimh chách!

I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday, March 15!

Le gach deá-ghuí
