I hope that you are having restful holidays.
This Sunday, we will mark the Feast of All the Saints of Ireland. The date of the Feast is actually 6 November but we anticipate it by a few days. Our Mass at 11h30 next Sunday will be our celebration of the Feast. After Mass, at about 13h00, we will visit the Chapel of the College de Lombards, now the Syrian Church, on the rue des Carmes. The crypt there is the resting place of the priests and bishops who came to Paris after the Treaty of Limerick. Symbolically, it will also be a moment for us to think of our own family graves in different places in Ireland.
Plans for 16 March 2013 are moving smoothly. Please remember to mark this day in your new diaries as it will be the major event for St Patrick’s week-end next year. Our Mass will be at 12h00 on that day. Kildare and Leighlin diocese are organizing a pilgrimage group and anyone who might like to travel from Ireland will be welcome to travel with that group. Details are available from Tully Travel in Carlow (+353 59 9136100). Anyone who might want to travel from Ireland to be present might find this a suitable way to travel.
